Frequently Asked Questions
Whether you are an artist, a manager, or a label looking for Sentric to publish or sub-publish your works, you should create a Sentric publishing dashboard.
To do this, click on the ‘Join Sentric’ button, on the top, right-hand corner of the Sentric website. There you will be able to add your personal information. Once you have verified your email, you will be directed to create a new username and password.
Next, you will select your account role, such as band, DJ, manager, label, songwriter, producer, etc. Then fill out the remaining personal information, including your Spotify and/or social account if you have one.
Once you have set up your personal information, you will be able to see your dashboard. The next steps will be to add writers and songs/tracks.
If you need to manage multiple artist accounts, you will also be able to create new accounts for them.
Royalty statements are sent to clients four times a year at the end of every quarter.
Royalty statements are sent to qualifying accounts four times a year in January, April, July and October.
Royalty statements are available via your Sentric dashboard in the 'Statements' section.
If your statement total meets the payment threshold of £40 then the email you receive to let you know a new statement is available will also include instructions on how to provide up to date payment information.
If your statement is below the £40 payment threshold then your total will roll over to the next statement period until it passes the threshold.
To view, edit, and add songs/works to your publishing dashboard, select the ‘Songs’ page from the main menu, on the left-hand side. Click the ‘Add a new song’ button.
Here you will be able to search for a recording on Spotify - if you have linked your account - or add a new song from scratch.
Adding a Song From Spotify
To make things easier, you can use the option to search for your song/work that is already in Spotify. Search for your song, then choose the correct option from the results.
The song/work details will be auto-populated based on Spotify’s data. You may want to keep or update this information. Note that by updating this data, no change will be made in Spotify. This only applies to your publishing dashboard.
Adding a New Song
If you don’t add from Spotify, you may fill out all of the available song/work information.
Once you have confirmed the song details, add the writers of this song/work:
- Select writers from the dropdown menu list. This list will show all writers already added to your account. If the writer you need has not yet been added, click on the ‘Create a New Writer’ link.
- Click on the ‘Add Writer’ button by the writer’s name
- Once populated with the writer’s details, select their role
- Add the split percentage to the writer, up to 2 decimals. You may also click on the ‘Share splits equally’ button, to automatically populate the writer splits evenly
- For controlled writers, check the ‘I have the right to collect’ box by their names
Then add/edit the performing artists. Once you are done, click on the ‘Add Song’ button at the bottom of the screen.
The Gigs functionality allows you to add the details of your gigs to your publishing dashboard so you can claim the live performance royalties generated.
To add a new gig, choose 'Gigs', from the main menu, on the left-hand side.
Adding a New Setlist
Before you add your gig details, you will first need to create a setlist.
From the Gigs menu, click on the 'Add setlist' tab.
Give the setlist a name that will help you identify it. Then add all of the songs, by clicking on 'Add another song'. You may also manually add songs by different artists. When done, click on the 'Add setlist' button at the bottom of the screen.
You will then be able to see all of your setlists by clicking on the 'Setlists' tab from the Gigs menu.
Creating a New Gig Claim
Now that you have your setlist ready, click on the 'Create a claim' tab from the Gigs menu.
Here you will be able to add all of the gig's details, such as country, date, and time. To add the venue you have the option to first search from the database or manually add one. When finished, click on the 'Add claim' button at the end of the screen.
Once you have added your gig claim you will be able to see the list of all gigs, along with their status, by clicking on the 'Overview' tab, from the Gigs menu.
